Our team is proud to have partnered with Delta Air Lines to design and deliver a brand new 22,000 plus-square-foot Delta Sky Club at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The centerpiece of Delta’s Terminal 5 home, a sleek lounge space four times the size of the previous Club, features modern interior design touches including wrapped columns, signature lighting fixtures, stone countertops and custom furniture giving the space a warm, elevated look and feel. Striving to create a premiere guest experience, the goal of this Delta Sky Club was to create a luxury landing place for travelers during their journey. The space emulates the client’s goal of crafting a refined hospitality environment with details reflecting the region’s culture, and artwork from Chicago-based artists.
Delta’s Sky Clubs are utilized by a wide range of people from around the world, and therefore need to provide a variety of spaces and seating types to accommodate working, dining, lounging, wellness, etc. that are user friendly and accessible by all. Our design keeps user diversity a priority, providing different zones separated by architectural screening elements. We met Delta’s seating capacity goals, maximizing individual seats and ADA accessible areas. Custom ergonomic furniture allows for a comfortable experience, providing room for luggage and access to multiple surfaces for dining or working equipped with integrated power solutions. Accessible private phone rooms, family restrooms, wellness, and shower rooms all equipped with digital booking tools add to the premier guest experience.
The space was enhanced by modernized digital tools including more efficient check-in with updated technology and process improvements, specifically, the check-in lobby features new kiosks equipped with self-tagging functionality for checked bags plus a fully self-service bag drop area for an especially seamless experience. The new lounge allowed for us to add additional amenities to support guest well-being including four premium showers, privacy sound booths for quiet work and a family room for nursing people.
