This expansive 440 sq.m penthouse, located in Almaty, represents a conceptual urban residence. The client, whose primary life is centered in the capital, views this apartment as a private base for business visits

Architecture & Zoning. The layout solution is dictated by a strive for privacy. The elevator opens directly into the entrance hall, from where the space is clearly divided into two wings:

Public Zone (Right Wing): Designed for hosting guests. The spacious living room flows seamlessly into the fireplace area and then into a formal dining room. The kitchen functionality is split: the “show kitchen” is integrated into the common space, while the technical kitchen is concealed.

Private Zone (Left Wing): A secluded block housing three master bedrooms and a children’s room. This layout strictly separates social scenarios from personal relaxation.

Stylistics & Materials. The project’s design code is a complex, intellectual dialogue of styles. We defined it as brutal eclecticism with elements of Art Deco and Modernism. The interior is built on the manipulation of large planes and the honesty of materials. The dominant feature of the public zone is the American walnut veneer wall paneling. Its vertical rhythm visually increases the ceiling height and sets a strict geometry. The warm texture of the wood contrasts with cool slabs of natural stone sourced from various corners of the world. The heart of the living room is a modern fireplace with a realistic flame effect. This technological solution introduces the magic of fire and visual warmth into the urban interior. Particular attention was paid to the flooring: handcrafted parquet inlaid with marble and brass. This technique, characteristic of the Art Deco era, turns the floor plane into a “precious canvas” that ties all interior elements together.

In the private zone, we moved away from ceremonial grandeur in favor of intimacy and complex color schemes. Smooth surfaces of emerald and grey stone meet wood through a thin brass profile—a technically complex solution that adds graphic quality. Lighting scenarios are resolved through sculptural glass and metal chandeliers, which serve as visual centers of the composition. The children’s room supports the general aesthetic of a “mature” interior, avoiding infantilism: noble materials and thoughtful ergonomics shape the child’s taste and remain timeless.

Engineering & Microclimate. Creating a healthy environment within the metropolis was a priority. The apartment is equipped with an advanced climate control system. Supply and exhaust ventilation with HEPA filtration and integrated humidifiers completely purifies the air from urban allergens. We applied “invisible tech”: air diffusers are hidden within magnetic lighting tracks, preserving ceiling lines, while multi-zone AC ensures individual comfort.

This penthouse proves that a monumental scale can still offer enveloping comfort. A status residence where past aesthetics meet future technologies.
