Ascend proudly presents “Immersion Cave: A Room with Screens for Walls,” a groundbreaking installation in Houston, Texas, the first of its kind in North America. This four-wall immersive experience is a leap forward in technology, allowing our client to share an unparalleled immersive experience. Our team worked tirelessly to design, engineer, build, program, and create custom content for this massive project.

The LED video walls are 9 feet in height, spanning 56ft, creating an epic visual environment with a 1.5mm pixel pitch for perfect HD. Integrated with a professional-level sound system, the visuals can be heard and felt, complemented by six color-changing lights, creating a unique meeting space.

Our client, a world-leading engineering firm, desired a solution for engineers to experience AutoCAD files in full HD 360 format, previewing construction designs and showcasing past projects. The Immersion Cave fosters natural conversations, unlike Virtual Reality. Engineers now utilize CAD and Revit, visualizing project designs in real-time, making on-the-fly adjustments, saving time and money.

Our design meetings with the client often involved discussions about Virtual Reality. Most people would have gone with a VR solution, but VR would cover people’s eyes, preventing natural conversations and putting each person in their own world. We wanted them all to share the same space and not be forced to look at weird avatars of their workmates, “Bob where are your legs?!”
