The collection includes four bed models, each named after islands in the archipelago on the west coast of Sweden. The centred leg piece is the key element of the design.
Imagine the serene and picturesque archipelago on the West Coast of Sweden. This tranquil landscape was the inspiration for Börje Thuleskär, the founder of Carpe Diem Beds. Wandering the Island of Stora Kornö, Börje spread out his picnic blanket on a meadow of heather to lay down and rest. As he closed his eyes, he experienced a floating sensation and a feeling of weightlessness. Since that day, that weightless feel is found in the comfort of of every bed from Carpe Diem Beds. And now, the floating sensation is a part of the design.
The target audience is luxury consumers with an affinity for design. To create the impression of a floating bed, the four beds in our Iconic Collection are installed on a slim pillar anchored to a stabilizing floor base unit. Every bed component is selected for its unique qualities; bed frames are crafted from solid, slow growing Nordic pine, and fabrics are meticulously chosen from renowned brands. Each bed, crafted in Sweden, is a masterpiece of exceptional artistry and is signed by the bedmaker, who’s declaring it their work – just like a painter would sign a canvas. This is yet another demonstration of Carpe Diem Beds’ commitment to quality.
All beds of the Iconic Collection include our patented “Contour Pocket system”. The Carpe Diem Beds Contour Pocket system is a unique innovation where the individual pocket springs adjust to the body’s contours, instantly molding to every new position. We’ve integrated padding material in each spring instead of placing them on top of the spring system. The result: supreme comfort and the ultimate sleeping experience. Furthermore, to create the impression of a floating bed, the four beds in our Iconic Collection are installed on a slim pillar anchored to a stabilizing floor base unit. This design innovation is patent pending.
Carpe Diem Beds takes pride in its commitment to sourcing materials locally. By using metals for springs and wood for frames from Sweden, we prioritize reducing transport and supporting local communities.
A cornerstone of our brand mission is our fundamental value and commitment to durability and longevity. The 25-year warranty on both springs and frames epitomizes our dedication to creating products that transcend time. This guarantee not only gives our customers peace of mind, but also aligns with our sustainability goals by minimizing waste through the production of long-lasting, high-quality goods. Investing in a Carpe Diem bed is not just an acquisition; it is an assurance of sustainable luxury that lasts across several decades.
