This residential project, located in Mylapore—one of Chennai’s most culturally significant neighborhoods—aims to offer not just homes but a thoughtfully integrated living experience. The site, formerly home to the iconic Kamadhenu Theatre, holds deep cultural and emotional value. The client’s vision is to preserve the memory of this legacy while creating a modern residential development that supports community life, well-being, and cultural continuity.

The design intention reflects this vision through the concept “Timeless Cinema: A Fusion of Classic Charm and Modern Living.” Inspired by the golden era of cinema and the character of Mylapore, the architecture and interiors balance nostalgic references with contemporary functionality and minimalism.

At the heart of the design is a curated collection of shared amenities that foster interaction, wellness, and a sense of belonging:
• Multipurpose Hall: A flexible space for cultural performances, ceremonies, and community gatherings. It includes a performance stage and banquet setup, with elegant finishes suitable for both traditional and formal events.
• Library & Screening Room: A dual-function space offering quiet reading zones, coworking desks, and a private screening area. It draws on the site’s cinematic past while supporting both productivity and leisure.
• Gym: A modern, open-plan fitness area with sleek design and energizing lighting, supporting various types of workouts and encouraging daily wellness.
• Aerobic Yoga Room: A serene space combining the benefits of aerobic movement and yoga. Natural materials and soft lighting promote calm and mindfulness.
• Game Room: Designed for both play and relaxation, the game room features pool and football tables, chess areas, and cozy seating, continuing the refined yet playful atmosphere set by the public lobby.
• Kids’ Room: A safe, joyful space for children aged 2–10, featuring soft colorful furniture, a climbing area, and whimsical decor—all within a warm, elegant material palette that aligns with the building’s overall aesthetic.

Across all spaces, the design intention is to create an environment that feels rooted in memory yet built for the future—where culture, comfort, and community coexist. The result is a distinctive residential experience that reflects the client’s ambition to offer timeless, culturally attuned, and contemporary urban living.
