At the end of the glazed gallery leading to a single-family house, c/ Sabadell, nº 8 in Fuencarral, Madrid, (Carvajal y Romany, 1957) there is a bathroom (which the ground floor lacks) in a minimum space of 97 cm x 128 cm. This space should be cheerful, fun and look large, multiplying with landscapes or mirrors. For that magic, they have resorted to the advertising posters of the British summer on the beaches of the East Coast. The bathroom takes a playful journey to the EAST COAST JOYS, travel by LNER, (The London & North Eastern Railway) to the drier side of Britain. The visual space is expanded with a mirror on the side wall and with stained glass windows in the corner that recreate the beaches of the British East Coast. The black tiles evoke the drops that descend into a watery soil. The windows, made of photo-printed glass, have a continuous pattern and envelop a bright, cheerful and holiday space, next to the blue of the sea. The small bathroom enclosure should place the shower diagonally with the door. On the access wall, a small corner sink should be rectangular. Outside, the beaches of the East of England have a presence day and night. At the same time, a mirror doubles the colorful space of a pleasant summer break on the Eng-lish beaches overlooking Europe. The panels, both glass and mirror, occupy the entire wall. The illusion of the sea of the Cassiterides Islands with Mediterranean light is total. The opaque part of the walls is treated with typical tiles of the subway and nineteenth-century sanitary premises, for better atmosphere and synchronicity. The shower, which is the protagonist of the corner space, carries the metaphor of rain or tears of water falling to the floor. Evoking the flamenco song "Lágrimas negras" by Bebo Valdés and Cigala, it has been seen how some tears or black rains could also slide down the walls, until they fell to the ground completely black. Thus, some black tiles are designed by sliding towards the black floor and shower. Nostalgia joins the optimistic expansion of the beach and the architectural enclosure plunges us into an atmosphere where the spirit and soul yearn for the sea and the space of the British East Coast. Narration of the order of the photographs. Itinerary, turning right: 1 Diagonal corner of the courtyard-access to the plot, which coincides with the door of the house to the glazed gallery. Detail of the columnar glass in the corner, with bather in a hat and slippers. 2 Visualization of sand and umbrella in mirror symmetry. 3 Full view in the mirror of stained glass windows. 4 Viewing the LNER general poster to extract the most convenient part. 5 Stained glass window project with number 2, sunbathing. The size of the figures enlarges the space. 6 View of the shower corner with photo-etched glass, still in the mirror. 7 First real view from above in the mirror. 8 View from below
