Tella Thera is a five-star boutique eco-hotel in Crete, shaped by principles of slow living, sustainability, and a deep connection to place. We designed a container of olive oil given to guests, conceived as a reflection of the hotel’s belief that luxury lies in connection with the earth. Its form takes shape from the olive. Soft, rounded, and organic, its silhouette echoes the fruit that carries the oil. A pronounced dent marks the human imprint, referencing touch and long-standing use. Natural irregularity is embraced, allowing the object to feel familiar and human. Designed to sit comfortably in the hand, its velvety surface encourages use. The object is made of clay. This earth-derived, breathable, and timeless material connects it directly to the land. Finished in white, the bottle avoids decorative colour, allowing form, texture, and material to lead. As a designed object, it extends the Tella Thera experience beyond the physical stay, carrying a way of living shaped by sustainability and locality.
